What do I do with this wild orphaned animal?
Before you call us, please read this!
Spring and early summer are times the clinic receives many calls regarding orphaned birds, rabbits, possums, etc. It is important to note that it is illegal to hold wildlife without a permit. We are limited to treating only injured wildlife for whom we have licensed rehabilitators to whom to send "repaired" wildlife, or to euthanize animals who cannot be treated. This is a service we provide as a courtesy, and we ask only for some donation to our wildlife fund to cover our costs. If we do not have a licensed rehabilitator to whom to send animals who may survive, we cannot accept them into our care!
